Who is important in your life?
It was the class of psychology. One specialty is that all were married in that class. When madam came to the class, she spoke addressing all the students "Now I will make you play a game through question and answer method. whoever interested come to the stage" Sahana who is ever ready to face the challenges went to the stage first.
Madam told , "Sahana you write the names of 30 people who are very intimate to you, on the board"
Sahana thought for a few minutes and wrote the names of 30 people recalling in her mind. When madam asked who they are, she told those are the names of father, mother, husband, son, class-mates and neighbors.
Now what type of questions madam would ask, other students were eager to know. At that time madam asked Sahana to erase 4 names that are not so important in the names-written.
Sahana thought for a while then she rubbed off 4 names of neighbors. Eagerly madam was looking at her and asked her to erase another 4 names. This time Sahana rubbed off the names of her class-mates.
By that time all the students in the class came to know there would be certain purpose behind madam's question. They were anxiously looking at the face of Sahana and madam.
At that time madam asked Sahana to remove 4 more names not so important from the list-written.
Sahana as if guessed it already rubbed off the names of relatives of her husband. Madam continued and told her to remove the names one by one that are not important for her. Sahana did accordingly.
At last 4 names left off. Sahana found it difficult to erase the names. She controlled herself and then with shivering hand rubbed off the names of parents. While doing it, tears rolled suddenly from her eyes.
Students were very eager to know what would happen further, they were surprisingly looking at the face of Sahana and the teacher.
The' game of removing names' began with amusement at first but now reached crucial stage. All were thinking what instructions would come from madam.
Madam asked Sahana 'what would you do if I ask you to remove 1 name out of 2. Last 2 names were left. One was husband's and the other son's.
First of all, that was psychology class . Sahana moaned with groan in her heart of heart. Then She took firm decision and removed the name of her son.
Madam stared at Sahana a moment and told her.
You removed the names of other people.I did not mind but you removed the names of your parents they gave birth to you, brought up, shaped your future, though so much they did for you, removed their names? You also removed the name of your only son who would be a support in your olden days but you did not erase your husband's name. Is it right on your part?
Then Sahana concluded, "See madam, my parents are old but they are comforted and free now as they have fulfilled their responsibility. They say goodbye to this life in future days earlier than me.
My son completed his education and he works now. He 'll get married soon and start new life and he too will depart me.
In the path of life through out my husband lives with me, he is part and parcel of my life he depends on me only no one else is there to look after him. I felt for married ones, life-partner is more important than others so I kept up my husband's name without erasing it.
As she finished her sayings, all the students stood up with a big clap of applause.
