This is what my father used to tell me during my childhood and I kept-up this through out my life.
An early morning walking is a blessing for the whole day. . I go for walking early morning. My husband accompanies me. This is not the hobby of one or two days back, for the past thirty years we have been going for walking in spite off odds and ends in life. It has become the part of our daily life. I never went alone, always with the company of my husband. If one could n't for any reason, the other dropped going but it was rare.
Now it's not a problem for us. Plenty of leisure time we have but before when we both were in service it was bit difficult for us. Our friends and colleagues used to get wondered how could we manage it along with our house-hold work, office- work and children.
In today's hectic world amidst so much happening around us makes us feel that an ideal life is but a living dream. Only because we bent upon to continue morning-walking considering its importance and took it as a hobby.
Some may think that it needs time or it is luck every one cannot do it. No not at all. Only thing we must make- up our mind.
To avoid busy roads, to get fresh air with green calm surroundings we chose a better place. It is behind railway station, naturally raised hill area, a hillock surrounded by green trees, the other side at a distance we can see different colleges. It's a calm and lovely spot. We have marked a specific space there. On the top if we stand we can enjoy the beautiful sun- rising.
Morning time 5.30 is set permanently in alarm clock but at present in my cell phone, at 5.45 we leave home. we have maintained brisk walking we take 12 to 15 minutes to reach the place. I sit in my specific place at a distance my husband.
Both of us start our daily exercises beginning with pranayama. The aim is to relax our mind as well as exercise our body.
We have morning walking friends also. I mean we daily see them sitting little far away from us. One pair is rtd school teachers and two -three are others. One of them is Laxmi ajji. She is 80.Every one tries to avoid her for if we have a glance at her, she doesn't leave us, starts talking non-stopping.
All are usual comers. When they see us they just wave their hands or smile at us. That's all. They'll be engaged with their exercises and yoga.
We spend nearly 45 to 50 minutes then viewing for a while the wonderful sun-rising that paints the sky with pink. It gives immense pleasure. Then we come back through different route by walking nearly three kilometers. At about 7 or 7.10 we'll be at home.
Morning walking is a natural way gives us energy to get through the day. It reenergizes our body and burn away the harmful affects of stress. but it's very disheartening to say that most of us do not bother to walk but prefer to sign up for expensive aerobic classes and spends a lot of time in a gym.
From the moment we rise in the morning till we get into bed at night, we are on and off our feet. Hence walking can be a whole philosophy of life.
